 University of Warwick

The University of Warwick is one of the UK's leading research universities. Founded in 1965, the University is situated on a 280 ha campus on the outskirts of the City of Coventry, and now has a student population of over 15000 of which 40% are postgraduates.

Warwick has 27 academic departments and over 30 research centres and institutes, in faculties of Arts, Medicine, Social Studies and Science. The University's Science Park has developed to become one of the UK's most successful, and is now home to over 140 high technology companies.

Its strategy is marked with a wish to be enterprising and outward-looking, seeking to match academic excellence with enterprise, and has many links with local businesses. The Prime Minister, Tony Blair, has said that
"Warwick is a beacon among British Universities for its dynamism, quality and entrepreneurial zeal".

Staff in the Department of Computer Science have interests in a wide variety of topics, from computational biology to theorem-proving, from agent-based systems to performance monitoring and three-dimensional imaging and visualisation.
